Abstract
Objective : In this study, we reviewed previous studies about the effect of natural compounds from herbs on damages by oxidative stress in human hair dermal papilla cell (HDPC), as cellular alopecia model.

Methods : We searched every reports, letters, and review articles through Pubmed and google scholar for 10 years using key words such as oxygen stress, hair, alopecia, and cortical papilla cells.

Resutls : HDPCs were used in experiments of totally four reviewed studies. Also, oxidative stress HDPC decreased cell viability and caused G2/M arrest in HDPC. And researchers reported changes of hair growth-related gene expression in oxidative stressed-HDPC.

Conclusion : These results suggest that oxidative stress could be used the study cellular levels of alopecia by hindering cell growth in HDPC.
